About the role
We're looking for a Product Designer to join our small but mighty design team. You'll work
closely with engineering, product, and our customers to craft the tools that agencies rely
on every day — from approval workflows and client portals to dashboards and notification
systems.
This isn't a pixel-pushing role. You'll own problems end-to-end: research, ideation,
prototyping, visual design, interaction details, and shipping. You'll have direct access to
customers, strong opinions on craft, and the autonomy to make real decisions.
"We don't design screens — we design the feeling of finally having your shit together." —
Sarah K., Head of Design
What you'll do
Own product areas end-to-end — from discovery research through high-fidelity design to post-launch iteration. No handoffs to "another designer."
Ship every two weeks — work in tight cycles with engineering. Design, prototype, test, and refine fast. We don't do 3-month design phases.
Talk to customers weekly — run user interviews, usability tests, and feedback sessions. Your designs will be grounded in real agency pain points.
Build and evolve our design system — maintain and expand Relay's component library in Figma. Ensure consistency across every surface while pushing the craft forward.
Collaborate deeply with engineering — pair with developers on interaction details, animation, and edge cases. We believe the best products emerge from designer-engineer partnership.
Influence product strategy — participate in roadmap planning, bring user insights to the table, and help decide what we build next.
What we're looking for
4+ years of product design experience in SaaS, B2B, or tools-for-professionals. Agency tools experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
A portfolio that shows craft and thinking — we want to see your process, not just polished finals. Show us a messy Figjam board alongside the shipped product.
Strong systems thinking — you naturally see patterns, reuse components, and think about how pieces connect across the product.
Comfort with ambiguity — you can take a vague problem statement and turn it into a clear design direction without needing a 30-page spec.
Excellent communication skills — you write clearly, present confidently, and give thoughtful feedback. Async-first means your writing matters.
Proficiency in Figma — components, auto-layout, prototyping. Bonus points for familiarity with code (HTML/CSS) or motion design (Framer, After Effects).
Nice to have
Experience designing for complex workflows (approval chains, multi-role permissions,
conditional logic).
Background in or strong empathy for the agency/consultancy world.
Familiarity with design tokens and handoff workflows for design systems at scale.
A side project, blog, or open-source contribution that shows your passion for craft.

What a typical week looks like
Monday: Async standup in Slack, review last week's shipped work, plan the week's design
priorities.
Tuesday–Wednesday: Deep design work — heads-down in Figma. Explorations,
prototypes, iteration on in-flight projects. One 30-min user interview.
Thursday: Design critique with the team (1 hr). Pair with an engineer on implementation
details for the current sprint.
Friday: Document decisions, update the design system, write a quick note in our internal
blog about what you learned this week. End early.
